This part replaces the OEM component, which is not sold separately by Alfa Romeo. The most common cause for replacement is error code P0299 (insufficient boost pressure) — caused by wear of the factory rod: play develops, holes become oval, and the connection between actuator and turbocharger weakens, preventing the wastegate from fully closing and leading to boost pressure loss.
