Oil Separator PCV Diaphragm - Volvo 2.4L / 3.2L - 30788481

This separate diaphragm repairs the crankcase ventilation valve in the oil separator on the listed Volvo 2.4L and 3.2L applications. Loss of elasticity or a split diaphragm can disturb crankcase pressure and allow an intake air leak.

When to Inspect the PCV System

• Whistling or excessive crankcase vacuum.
• Unstable idle.
• Increased oil consumption.
• Oil deposits in the intake.
• Exhaust smoke after warm-up.
• Mixture faults associated with intake air leaks.

Confirm the cause by checking the diaphragm, housing and ventilation pipes. These symptoms do not prove diaphragm failure on their own.

Repair Scope

The diaphragm is supplied separately from the oil filter/separator housing. Check the housing and ventilation pipes for cracks and damage. If the housing is damaged, diaphragm replacement alone may be insufficient.
