The crankcase gas ventilation valve (PCV) is necessary to move gases from the crankcase into the intake tract. And due to its unipolar device, this mechanism does not allow reverse movement to occur. And one of the most important roles in this process is played by the valve cover membrane. The integrity of this part is directly related to the effectiveness of the performance of its functions by the entire device.
The crankcase gas ventilation valve works as follows:
- When the engine is turned off. The diaphragm of the PCV closes the valve.
- When idling. Against the background of the discharge of the gas medium, the unit opens slightly, after which a small part of the crankcase gases pass into the intake manifold.
- When the number of revolutions increases. The membrane is completely shifted and gases move through it in full.
That is, the principle of operation is quite trivial, but at the same time very effective. And over time, the diaphragm, like any other parts, becomes unusable. But the original manufacturer does not supply it separately from the PCV, which is quite inconvenient and financially expensive.
