The crankcase gas vent valve has a unipolar function. With its help, gases move from the crankcase into the intake tract, but do not move in the opposite direction. And if this part is faulty or completely torn, then the car starts to mess up. This can be expressed both in problems with the ignition system and instability of the institution, and in a significant increase in the consumption of fuel and lubricants and whistling / sucking sounds.
The valve is arranged quite elementary and includes:
- housing with 2 fittings;
- covers;
- diaphragms;
- the return spring.
And it is the valve cover membrane that most often fails and leads to a number of troubles. The spare part simply changes: the lid is removed, the ventilation valve in which the diaphragm is located is removed. But the official manufacturers Peugeot, Citroen, Volvo, Ford and Fiat did not take care to release this part separately from the entire repair kit. Accordingly, the owner of the car, who is faced with damage to the membrane, needs to overpay.
