The crankcase gas ventilation valve is responsible for preventing additional air and dust from entering the engine. With the help of PCV, gases are moved from the crankcase to the collector, while it prevents the reverse direction. A very important component of this repair kit is the valve cover membrane. Its integrity directly affects the effectiveness of the entire system.
In modern machines, diaphragm valves for crankcase gas ventilation are installed. As time passes, this part becomes dirty, deteriorates and becomes non-functional. Before changing the membrane or even the entire unit as a whole, it is advisable to conduct testing. It can be done in two ways:
- Turn off the motor, disconnect the valve and blow.
- When the engine is turned on, check the hose coming from the intake manifold. If everything is working properly, then you will feel the vacuum with your finger.
