Over time, with the constant operation of the car, the valve cover membrane loses its properties and subsequently breaks. This leads to interruptions in the ignition, the appearance of smoke, uncharacteristic whistling, unstable engine operation, up to the inability to start the car.
Car owners often face such a problem and decide to replace the membrane themselves. But it is impossible to find the original part, since it is not supplied to the markets. Only whole sets with a membrane are received from manufacturers, which is impractical from the point of view of cost.
You can buy a valve cover membrane for Citroen, Peugeot 2.0 HDI (9806147980) and Ford 2.0 TDCI (1860576) similar to the standard one at a low price. It completely repeats all the properties of the original part and performs its functions properly.
When replacing the membrane on your own, you need to carefully remove the valve cover so as not to lose the pressure spring. We also recommend that you warm up the lid clockwise before repair, for this you can use a construction hair dryer.
