Over time, the diaphragm of the crankcase ventilation valve dries and tears.
Air unaccounted for by the mass flow sensor enters the engine through a torn membrane.
As a result, the engine may start badly, work unstable (especially at idle), there may be interruptions in ignition, dust may also get into the engine, which contributes to increased wear of parts and mechanisms.
If a whistle is heard in the area where the oil separator is located, then the membrane is torn.
The manufacturer sells only the oil separator assembly.
We sell this part separately.
During the first start, after replacing the membrane, the engine may not work steadily
(this is due to the fact that when the membrane was torn, the adaptive settings of the ECU were reconfigured, in accordance with the readings of oxygen sensors that recorded an increased oxygen content).
After replacing the membrane, the valve's operability is restored, and the suction of air unaccounted for by the flow meter is eliminated, the ECU needs some time to adjust the fuel cards.
It is necessary to let the engine run for a while, shut down and start again, the engine must adapt to the new correct volume of air.
