A clogged timing chain tensioner oil screen on VAG 1.8, 2.4, 2.7, 2.8, and 4.2L engines (not 2.0L) starves the tensioner of oil — causing chain rattle and tensioner collapse. Replacing the screen at each oil change is a low-cost way to prevent costly timing failures.
Important: NOT compatible with 2.0L engines. Verify your engine displacement before ordering.
