Function and Fault Checks

The diesel throttle body supports EGR / AGR operation and closes the airflow for prompt engine shutdown. Original plastic gear teeth can wear. Throttle faults or a Check Engine warning, and an engine that no longer stops promptly after switching off, call for diagnosis. Confirm a mechanical gear fault before repair.

When to Inspect the Throttle Body

• Unstable idle.
• Fluctuating engine speed.
• Delayed accelerator response.
• Throttle position faults.
• Sticking or play in the mechanism.
• Uneven running after contamination or component wear.
