Replacement Procedure

1. Remove the right wheel and clamps and pull the right rack boot back. Disconnect the tie rod only from the rack and remove the rubber damper.
2. Turn the steering fully to the right.
3. Use a heat gun in circular movements around the housing outline at the factory nut seat, from 10-15cm away, to soften the thread sealant. Do not direct heat inside toward the shaft.
4. Fit the extractor, insert a 19mm socket and unscrew the factory nut.
5. Clean thread sealant from the thread. Use P 1000 abrasive paper to dull the sharp shaft chamfer edge so the kit can pass without damage.
6. Trial-fit the kit on the shaft. If it does not fit, wrap P 2000 abrasive paper around a 17mm socket and adjust the bushing insert so it fits by hand with slight resistance and no play.
7. Apply a drop of sealant to the kit thread and screw it into the rack. Lubricate the rack shaft and inside of the bushing.
8. Refit the tie rod and secure it with its locking feature.
9. Refit the boot in its seat and reinstall the wheel.
