Diagnostic Codes
- P1820 - pump overcurrent for the 4WD motor.
- P1821 - short to battery in the 4WD motor pump wiring.
- P1822 - open load in the 4WD motor pump wiring.
- P1823 - short to ground in the 4WD motor pump wiring.
- P1824 - low overload indication at the 4WD pump terminals.
Diagnose the pump, wiring and affected motor components; a code alone does not prove that a repair kit will resolve the cause.
Inspection Before Repair
Inspect wear, damage, deformation, play, leaks and incorrect seating. Check oil condition, filter, pump and strainer. With heavy contamination, clean seating areas and check pump operation.
