VW Touareg / Phaeton 3.2L PCV Diaphragm, 74 mm - 022103245B

This separate 74 mm diaphragm is for the crankcase ventilation valve in the specified VW Touareg and Phaeton 3.2L V6 applications. Heat and material ageing can cause the membrane to dry out, crack and tear.

Vehicle Applications

• VW Touareg 3.2L V6 - 2003-2007.
• VW Phaeton 3.2L V6 - 2002-2009.

When to Inspect the Ventilation Valve

• Whistling or excessive crankcase vacuum.
• Unstable idle.
• Increased oil consumption.
• Oil deposits in the intake.
• Exhaust smoke after warm-up.
• Mixture faults associated with unmetered air.

Confirm the fault by inspecting the membrane, ventilation housing and hoses before selecting a repair.

Other Signs to Investigate

Difficult starting, reduced response at low engine speeds and smoke can also accompany a ventilation fault. A damaged membrane can admit unmetered air and dust, contributing to engine wear. Inspect the system to establish the cause.

Repair Scope

The diaphragm can be serviced separately when the surrounding cover and housing are sound. Inspect the other sealing components before choosing the repair; replacing a membrane does not correct damage elsewhere in the assembly.

Important Before Ordering

Compare the installed assembly reference, membrane design and dimensions before ordering. Check the housing and ventilation hoses for damage; a membrane alone may not resolve a cracked housing.
