The schematic diagram of the PCV in BMW is quite elementary. The valve's functionality is based on the application of centrifugal forces regulating crankcase gases by opening and fitting the diaphragm flap. The component is inconspicuous, but important. The destruction of the membrane entails an unaccounted air intake, provoking the flow meter to provide inaccurate information. The result is an increased overspending of oil, fuel, deterioration of dynamics, expressed in the irregular operation of the engine.
The rapid destruction of the membrane occurs due to the presence of a rubber base and the increased load imposed. Systematic compression and stretching, direct contact with aggressive media, worsen elasticity, bringing the loss of the specified characteristics of the material closer. Separately, the membrane as an interchangeable element is not provided by the manufacturer, therefore, only the oil separator assembly is supplied in the original.
