Separator Selection

Diameter: 58.3mm. Volvo housing references: 30684381, 31338698 and 8642424. Volvo diesel engines: D5244T / D5244Tx (2.4 D / 2.4 D5). Volvo petrol engines: B5244S / B5254T (2.4 / 2.5T / T5). Ford oil separator reference: 1511222; Ford application context: 2.5 / 2.5T. Match the actual installed housing, rather than assigning every engine to every listed model.

When to Inspect Crankcase Ventilation

• Whistling or excessive crankcase vacuum.
• Unstable idle.
• Increased oil consumption.
• Oil deposits in the intake.
• Exhaust smoke after warm-up.
• Mixture faults associated with air leaks.

These symptoms call for inspection of the crankcase ventilation system; confirm the cause before replacing the diaphragm.

Repair Scope

The diaphragm is a repair component for the oil separator. Inspect the separator or valve cover housing, ventilation hoses and possible cracks. Diaphragm replacement may be suitable when the housing is intact; housing damage may require a different repair.

Important Before Ordering

Compare the original part number, marking, shape and mounting design before ordering. A model name alone does not confirm the required version.
