Upgraded oil filter housing check valve for Land Rover Freelander with M47 2.0L diesel engine (1996–2006). Features an aluminum body, stainless steel core, and a new stainless steel spring engineered for this specific valve — unlike the OEM plastic valve spring, this one resists wear, corrosion, and deterioration.
Common symptoms of a failed check valve: engine knocking on cold start, slow oil pressure build-up, oil starvation in the upper engine.
Note: Before installation, test the valve seal by standing it upright, filling with oil, and leaving for several hours. If oil seeps through, lapping may be required. This valve alone will not cure low oil pressure caused by other issues (blocked oil pickup, worn pump, worn bearings, incorrect oil filter, or faulty oil pressure sensor).
