Aluminum bushing (axis, leg) for the side rear-view mirror rotation mechanism of BMW X1 E84 and X3 E83 cars, with and without the electric folding function.

Compatibility:

The bushing is suitable for E84 and E83 models, provided that bushing-based designs are used.

Purpose:

The bushing replaces the standard plastic part, which often breaks when hit or when unsuccessfully trying to fold the mirror, especially in the cold season. Instead of completely replacing the mirror mechanism, you can install a reinforced aluminum bushing, significantly extending the service life of the device.

Installation process (you will need a clamp to compress the spring):

1. A piece of plywood or other material is placed under the mirror body to protect the plastic from damage when using a clamp.
2. The mirror is installed in a position in which the bushing is fully inserted into the grooves. This position is preliminarily determined by trial installation of the bushing without a spring. After determining the position, the spring is returned to its place.
3. Using a clamp, the spring and bushing are compressed until they stop. Then the mirror is turned in the direction of folding until a characteristic click is heard, signaling the completion of the installation.
