Oil Filter Housing Anti-Drainback Valve - BMW M50 M52 M52TU M54 - 11421740001

This separate anti-drainback valve retains oil in the oil filter housing while the engine is stopped. Wear in the housing can leave the closing element misaligned, allowing oil to drain into the sump and emptying the filter housing during parking.

When to Inspect the Valve

Ticking during engine start and a red oil warning are reasons to inspect the lubrication system, including the housing valve. Check for wear, damage, incorrect seating and oil draining out of the filter housing. These signs do not identify the valve as the cause without diagnosis.
