Screen Removal

• Use a thin flat tool, such as a precision screwdriver. Open the monitor, raise the retainers and pull out the air vent.
• Remove the clip-mounted key holder front panel before removing the central trim strip. Carefully release the fragile strip retainers from their grooves and disconnect its plug.
• Undo the wooden trim fixing bolts and remove the trim, releasing the retainer at the top left and then the other side.
• Undo the wooden dashboard fixing bolts on the right of the steering wheel. The whole panel and the left dashboard vent do not need to be removed. Move the right-hand panel aside to release the monitor fixings.

Gear Replacement and Reassembly

• Remove the upper wooden trim from its clips and slots if needed for access; otherwise avoid scratching it.
• Remove the drive motor to make room for gear removal.
• Lift the upper plate with a screwdriver and move the retainer underneath so the central section moves back.
• Remove the damaged gears, lubricate the replacements well and fit them in place.
• Refit the upper trim and test the screen mechanism before final installation.
• Reassemble the screen mechanism in reverse order.
