FAQ
Because several Citroen engines share architecture with Peugeot and, in some cases, Ford or Fiat applications. That is especially common in diesel families such as HDi / TDCi-linked platforms. The overlap is normal, but fitment still has to be confirmed by engine code and part number, not by assuming every 2.0 diesel is the same thing. It is not.
Typical symptoms include oil mist, increased oil consumption, rough idle, vacuum-related running issues, and pressure imbalance that can lead to leaks around the cover or breather system. A damaged membrane can look like a bigger engine problem until you identify the actual ventilation fault. That is why these small parts punch above their weight in diagnostics.
If the housing is intact and the failed part is the membrane, a repair kit is usually the more efficient route. If the cover is damaged or warped, then a membrane-only fix may not last. Klifex’s category structure strongly suggests that many of these failures are serviceable at the membrane level, which is exactly where the cost advantage comes from.
Because they allow targeted repair of known weak points in the crankcase ventilation system without forcing a full assembly replacement every time. For engines with shared PSA-family components, that is often a rational and budget-friendly repair path. In plain terms: fix the failed rubber component, not the customer’s patience.
